We have to admit that the electricity is highly required for our lives considering that many electronic devices are generated by the electricity power. The Difference of Step up and Step down DC to DC Converter Circuit
The step down voltage is used for decreasing the output voltage. This is commonly be used especially if we want to operate the electronic devices that requires lower voltage than the input voltage we receive. We need to step down voltage when we want to operate a radio using our car battery. The step up voltage which is often called as the step up dc to dc converter circuit or the boost converter is used when we want to convert higher output voltage from the lower input voltage. It’s therefore necessary especially when we use any electronic devices that require higher output voltage.
How the Step up DC to DC Converter Circuit Works
The step up dc to dc converter circuit can be included as one type of Switch Mode Power Supply or SMPS. The SMPS consists of two switches of semiconductor which include a transistor and diode and combined with energy storage element like the inductor, capacitor or combination of both. The main reason why we can reduce the input voltage and produce higher output voltage is because the step up dc to dc converter circuit is supported by filters made of inductor which can also combined with conductor as well.
